a good sandwich - jersey boy at the kensington gourmet deli

thanks to a reader for this tip: under new family ownership since fall of 2024, the kensington gourmet deli (known previously as kensington fine foods) is located inside young's market at 285 arlington in kensington.

the friendly, old-fashioned deli counter features a chalkboard menu of hot (meatloaf; steak with stilton; tuna melt; reuben) and cold sandwiches (cobb; vegetarian; smoked salmon), including the jersey boy, layering ham, mortadella, salami, provolone, shredded lettuce, tomato, red onion, vinaigrette and pepperoncini on a soft roll, with optional housemade pickles on the side. there are also soups, deli salads and rotisserie chickens.

kensington gourmet deli is open daily inside young's market at 285 arlington in kensington.
