my cambodia from chef nite yun, available now
psa: bay area chef nite yun (nyum bai, lunette), known for her flavorful, expressive and award-winning cambodian food, has announced the publication of her first dedicated cookbook.
my cambodia - a khmer cookbook from nite yun and tien nguyen, published by 4 color books, is available for pre-order as of today. (the cookbook's release date is september 23, 2025.)
yun has participated in collaborative cookbooks in the past, but this is the first project based solely on her own cambodian recipes. local fans have been waiting a couple of years for its release.
yun is now cooking across the bay at the ferry building in san francisco, but very memorably got her start in the east bay (via la cocina) as the chef-owner of nyum bai, first at la cocina's dedicated kiosk at the public market emeryville, and then her first brick-and-mortar restaurant of the same name in oakland. (nyum bai closed in 2022.)
yun opened lunette in san francisco in 2024, and was featured as part of the netflix chef's table noodles series that same year.
