pho era opens in berkeley's former dumpling kitchen

berkeley's branch of dumpling kitchen, located on durant avenue in the southside neighborhood, closed permanently after four years on june 22, 2025. (the east bay express had the news first in its "what the fork" subscription newsletter.)

already opened in its place is new vietnamese eatery pho era viet kitchen, with a straightforward, fast-casual counter menu of spring rolls, banh mi, pho, vermicelli and rice plates.

vietnamese coffee is also available. note: the restaurant is cashless.

pho era is at 2517 durant avenue in berkeley, and is open for lunch and dinner wednesday-monday.
