souley vegan returns to oakland

when oakland plant-based soul food restaurant souley vegan at 301 broadway went dark in 2023 after 14 years, there was always the hope that famously resilient chef tamearra dyson had the potential for a comeback.

after a short stint cooking in martinez at a kiosk in market & main, dyson announced this spring that she had found a new oakland space to call her own. the property at 101 broadway would return her notable vegan cuisine to jack london square, and would also give dyson the opportunity to host events and offer commercial kitchen space to fellow chefs and collaborators.

the reborn souley vegan at 101 broadway will softly open july 5, 2025.
